The Westwood Patriots girls basketball team opened their season on the road tonight against the Kingsford Flivvers and were hoping to get going on the right foot for the season.
Both teams saw foul trouble early in the game in the first half and the teams stayed close with the Patriots leading only by 3 after the half.
Teams stayed close even as the game opened up and the Patriots were only able to add a point to their lead at the end of the 3rd quarter 34-30.
In the 4th quarter though the Patriots were able to pull away and able to close the game with a 52-39 win.
The girls team take on the Menominee Maroons on Monday, December 6th at Westwood. Pregame will be 7pm and tip off will be at 7:30PM right here on 103.3 The Country Extreme.
