The Ishpeming Hematites girl opened the districts today with their first win in ten years with a win over the Westwood Patriots.
The Hematites came out strong from the beginning of the game and lead at half by ten points 31-21. In the second half the Patriots were able to try and mount a comeback but only got within three points of the Hematites. In the fourth quarter they were able to slam the door shut for the win.
The Hematite girls move on to play the winner of the Negaunee vs Gwinn game on Friday, March 4th in Westwood. Pregame will be 6:30PM and tip off will be at 7PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
