In the district finals in Westwood tonight the girls Ishpeming Hematites were able to get their first title in 29 seasons as they beat the Negaunee Miners 48-35.
The game started off pretty even between the two teams but in the second quarter the Hematites were able to build a lead for a score of 25-13 at half. The Hematites were able to keep that lead and the Miners at bay for the win.
The Hematite girls move on to play the winner of the St. Ignace-LaSalle game on Tuesday, March 8th at the Marquette Senior High School in Marquette. Pregame will be 7:30PM and tip off will be at 8PM right here on WRUP 98.3FM.
